Piece #57

Photography | Durham Cathedral, Durham, United Kingdom | December 2016

Durham Cathedral was constructed between 1093 and 1133 as a replacement for an earlier church built for the shrine of St Cuthbert. It is the earliest surviving building of its scale with a stone vaulted ceiling and, for the bookworms out there, it was a backdrop in the Harry Potter films.

For those visiting, I would recommend going on a sunny day to the back of it and watching how the light comes though the stained glass windows. Also in the extension, near the shop there is a LEGO model of it, it’s super detailed and almost complete.
